9x13 original fluid art Alcohol ink painting on synthetic Yupo paper.
This painting honors the black bears that live in Western NC.
My cabin at High Rock was nestled between 2 bear trails and I lived among the bears for 9 years. They slept .25 mi from my cabin. The mama would bring her cubs to the Pignut Hickory Tree in my front yard to eat and I would sing to them from my porch and in the woods so that they knew it was me, where I was, and that I meant no harm. I have many fond memories of watching the mama return with her different cubs over the years.
